This is not supposed to happen here. This is the USA. My god I can't believe BOTH World Trade Centers have collapsed...

This is just so sickening... My stomach is turning...

My thoughts and feelings go out to everyone in this time of need for our nation... My prayers go out to anyone that has been affected by the most Catastrophic event in American history...

That's the exact attitude on behalf of the leaders of our country that got us into this. When there's a threat three weeks ago and you know that all of Bin Laden's previous plans involved crashing planes into things, if you don't improve what is already lax airport security, you're asking for trouble.

News reports keep saying that the terrorists were smart about this and how well it was planned out. The simple fact is that the US was stupid. It's a tragedy that so many people had to suffer and die because of that stupidity.

The US gets what they want now, they can finally get their hands on Bin Laden.

I also hate being in this situation being led by George Dubya. Any leader that can't speak without having something prepared in a situation like this is no leader. I really wish that Clinton were still in office. He would have been out there actually showing emotion and promising retabution (sp?) for the US Citizens. He looked just as emotionless as he does giving any other speech. Sept. 11, 2001 will be a day that will more than live in infamy, but we won't get anything close to that speech to motivate our nation.

I agree with your on the lack of airport security...

But I don't agree with you about George W. Bush. Every president reads prepared speeches, even the ones that make it look like they aren't. Bush showed distraught in his face. He promised that the people responsible will be hunted down and taken care of.

I disagree. Even the reporters on MSNBC are criticizing Bush. They say he's got no clue what he's doing. He's not a leader, he's a businessman. Another reason why Ross Perot would not have made a good president.

I'll give Bush a little more time. He's got to act as the figurehead that he is and get the country unified and motivate them. First he's got to learn how to read a speech and stop making up words.

I didn't hear him say a thing about hunting down those who did it. All I heard him babble about is showing the world that we can pass this test. Just that analogy on its own is insulting to the American People. Test? Bush and his staff need to get a fucking clue.

My comment about prepared speeches wasn't about the fact of whether or not they're used. It was about the appropriateness of it in this situation. I don't want a businessman leading me into war, I want someone who's going to tell us that we're going to kick some ass and rally the country. Bush's speech would put people asleep, not get them motivated.

No, I blame him. What was called for in the situation was an off-the-cuff short statement saying that they'll do whatever they can and to thank the emergency responce teams. The problem is that Bush can hardly read a speech, let alone come up with something on his own. I always thought he looked like Howdy Doody (minus the freckles) anyway. Without someone pulling his strings, he's nothing.

I miss someone like Clinton leading the country. Screw the Lewinsky thing, if anything it shows that he's human. When it came to matters involving the country, he was top notch and foreign leaders loved him as well. Above all, he could speak on his own. It's what won him the election. Yes, he still takes flack for things like admitting he tried marajuana, but didn't inhale or playing the sax on Arsenio, but those things won over the young voters and got him the election.

The only thing that got Bush the election were his connections and possibly a faulty ballot system. He's now showing what I've been saying all along and that is that he's not a capable leader. (Although his time with the Texas Rangers should have proven that. Financially they did fine, but how many titles did they win?) ;)

I myself miss Reagan... or even George Bush...

But I still feel W. has done a decent job, and better then no personality Gore... but that is besides the fact... What happen was terrible, and no matter what president was in office, I think we would have seen the same thing happened. I myself am still in shock...

Subject: today's events
As I was watching the news this morning, I thought I was going to be sick. You know, you said how this is isn't suppose to happen here, well it's not suppose to happen anywhere. The images on the T.V. screen were horrific and who knows what's to come. Who ever was responsible for this obviously has had this planned for a while and is willing to lose it all, how terribly selfish. Whatever retaliation we take as a country I hope it is a well planned, organized one where we'll be able to look back a year from now. I'm terrified of the fact that this country has the ability to destroy half the world with a touch of a button, I'm sure that our president and all his advisors have this well in hand and will persue this action with the most utter care. Meanwhile we should all pray for all of the people who's lives were lost and for everyone else who was affected by this event, we should all pray for our president and his advisors regardless of the feelings towards him and the way he's governing our country, he is after all the father of our country right now and needs our support, and even though it might sound corny we should pray for peace throught the world. Good night and God bless you.

Phantom.
