The Race card gets dealt every time the media wants a story read, precisely because of the original poster's knee-jerk response.

According to the General Sensationalism of the Press, it is no longer enough to merely be "men" and "women" - we are reduced to the chance factions of our parents' families. Gods forbid we use our brains to catapult ourselves outside of the imaginary box the media is determined to stuff us into.
