So I like to do this every so often, talk about the movies I am thinking about seeing that are coming out.

I didn't know there was going to be an Elektra movie, mmm Jennifer Garner goodness. Although I already would have had my fix of two Alias episodes when this comes out on Jan 14th.

Spanglish looks good. Saw a trailer last friday when I went to the movies.

Oceans Twelve the first one wasn't great, but it was good. I expect pretty much the same of this one.

Meet the Fockers there is no way it can be as good as Meet the Parents, but I'm still going to catch it, should be funny.

Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events looks like a probably Tim Burton ripoff. I wouldn't be surprised if they asked him to do it first. But still looks like it will be funny, and it's hard to pass up Jim Carey when he looks like he's going to be hilarious in the movie.

The Life Aquatic Wes Anderson. I don't think I need to say anything else. Hoping to see this, this weekend!

In Good Company nothing is wrong with sappy feel good comedys. Plus it has Topher Grace from that 70's show.

Batman Begins, sure why not. Superhero movies are usually worth seeing. Especially ones about the dark knight.

That's all I can think of for now. Has anyone checked out the new and improved Daredevil? Offy? Is it worth getting or seeing compared to the original one? 30 more minutes of the movie, I liked the first one, it wasn't great but I thougth it was better then the reviews did.

Spanglish does look good. It's nice to see that Adam Sandler can do more than play the same goofy character in every movie. I loved his work on Punch-Drunk Love.

I liked Oceans' Eleven a lot for what it was. A large ensemble action flick. It's great eye candy and fun to watch and that's about all you can expect. Like you said, the second one will probably be similar.

I think that the third movie in the series should be titled "Little Fockers" when they decide to have kids. d8^)

Good Tim Burton or bad Tim Burton? If I have to listen to one more person tell me that Burton did Nightmare Before Christmas I swear that I'll explode. When I think about it, I'm not really a big fan of Burton, but I've yet to see Big Fish and that looks really good. My favorite Burton work is his cameo in Singles.

I don't know what I think about Batman Begins. Batman driving an SUV? It all comes down to how they handle the character. For example, in the Burton films he had a hard-on for the Dark Knight Returns look, but that wasn't the character that was used in the movies. Things like that annoy me. I actually didn't mind the look of the Schumaker films. They looked like a comic book right up on the screen. The movies were crap, but I liked the look of them. Batman is a tough character to write properly and it hasn't been done properly yet in the movies.

If you don't have Daredevil yet on DVD then go for it. Extra stuff can only be more gooder. d8^) I have no clue what's on there and haven't checked it out myself though. I too thought that the movie was a lot better than the reviews gave it credit for. Nothing spectacular, but better than the average superhero movie.

See you look at them more at a comic book perspective. I on the other hand, never read comic books but always liked superheros. I mean I'm the guy who buys Wizard magazine to read about comics books but has probably only bought 2 comics in his life...

That's definitely true. For example, I hated that in the first X-Men movie that they made Rogue so young and made her Wolverine's little buddy because that role was Kitty Pride's (Shadowcat) in the comics. The fact that the movie focused so much on Wolverine annoyed me as well. To this day I still call the movie Wolverine and his Uncanny Friends.

Don't even get me started on the organic web shooters in the Spider-Man movie. d8^)

Oh yeah I know that bugged me about Spidey too. But sometimes things have to be different for the movies. I don't feel they really wanted to emphasize on Peter Parkers intelligence in the first movie, so they didn't want to go through the process of trying to explain how he was able to make the web shooters. It was easier and shorter to just have him sprout them in his wrists, and it worked for the movie.

I definitely understand the reasoning for it. That doesn't mean that I have to like it. d8^) They had to leave plenty of room for the excessive repetition of "With Great Power Comes Great Responsability" and the MJ/Peter love story thing.

What's even worse is that they changed Spidey in the comics to match the movies and his webs now shoot out of his wrists. He can also talk to insects which makes him a lamer version of Aquaman. It was a terrible story that went on for 6 months and the payoff was a huge disappointment.

In Erik Larsen's book Savage Dragon, he's got a great character named Widow who correctly shoots her webs out of her ass just like real spiders do.
